USS Gerald R. Ford: Largest Aircraft Carrier Patrols Adriatic Sea in 2023

The U.S. Navy’s Aircraft Carrier Battle Group, led by the USS Gerald R. Ford, conducts a patrol mission in the Adriatic Sea. The world’s largest aircraft carrier arrived in the Mediterranean in early summer 2023.

What is known

The home of the USS Gerald R. Ford is Norfolk, Virginia. The aircraft carrier’s journey, worth more than $13 billion, began a few months ago. In late spring he made a historic visit to Oslo, and months later he docked in Croatia.

In August, the USS Gerald R. Ford arrived in Turkey. Previously, she took part in exercises with landing ships Anadolu, Goksu, Gediz, Imbat, Meltem, Burakreis and F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter aircraft.
