Raffaella Pimenta, the agent of French star Paul Pogba, the Italian Juventus player, confirmed that the latter “never wanted to break the laws” after the decision to suspend him by the Italian National Anti-Doping Court.
Pogba’s agent told Tuttosport: “We are waiting for the counter-analysis and we cannot say anything now.”
Yesterday, Monday, the Italian Anti-Doping Court suspended the French international – temporarily – after he failed a doping test.
Pogba’s test result was positive, as he was found to have taken the banned testosterone hormone, in a random steroid test after the Udinese league match on August 20, during which he was content to sit on the bench.
After the Anti-Doping Authority issued its statement yesterday evening confirming Pogba’s suspension, Juventus stated that the club will now study “the next procedural steps.”
If convicted, Pogba could be suspended for a period of between 2 and 4 years, according to the British news agency (PA Media).
A statement issued by the “Old Lady” club said: “Pogba received a precautionary suspension order from the Anti-Doping Court on September 11, 2023, after the results of the tests.”
This court confirmed that Pogba’s sample was positive for testosterone.
