TotalEnergies will extend the cap on the price of gasoline and diesel to 1.99 euros per liter in 2024, “as long as prices remain high”.
Diesel increased by 20 cents in 2 months to reach 1.88 euros on average last week. The price of the SP95-E10 also increased to reach its highest level of the year at 1.93 euros.
There will be no tax rebate at the pump of 15 to 20 cents for everyone, thus representing an expenditure of 12 billion euros for fossil fuels which would be “an ecological aberration” according to the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Mayor.
