Near the center of the Milky Way galaxy There is a strange object named “The Brick” (The Brick). It is a dense gas cloud called infrared dark clouds (Infrared dark clouds-IRDCs), which is not like other types of clouds. The Brick raises questions among astronomers. when it showed little sign of star formation which is a mystery
A team of researchers led by astronomers from the University of Florida in the United States said they used the James Webb Space Telescope, a collaborative tool of NASA, the United States, and the European Space Agency. and the Canadian Space Agency studied the Brick, also known as G0.253+0.015, but found it difficult to see into the dense region. Astronomers then turned to carbon monoxide. Higher amount of hydrogen due to carbon Monoxide is very bright and visible at certain wavelengths. Thus, the movement and density of interstellar clouds can be monitored.
The team found that, despite having little star-forming activity compared to similar clouds, the Brick still contains more than 56,000 stars. It may still be young. There is too much commotion. This may be limited by magnetic fields. The team used the NIRCam instrument on the James Webb telescope to study the Brick and found that there is more carbon dioxide in the solid state than previously thought. This may indicate a high rate of star formation. But the gas inside the Brick is warmer than other clouds. Even though there’s ice everywhere These results tell us something about the center of the Milky Way galaxy as a whole.
