Novak Djokovic won the US Open for the fourth time and made further tennis history. The most successful player in the sport to date had already set numerous records – and added further records and remarkable numbers in New York. An overview:

4 – For the fourth time, Djokovic won three Grand Slam tournaments in one season – the first male tennis player to do so. He previously achieved this in 2011, 2015 and 2021.

10 – For Djokovic it was the tenth final at the US Open, equaling Bill Tilden’s record.

12 – Since turning 30, Djokovic has a Grand Slam finals record of 12 wins and three losses. In his 20s this was 12:9.

24 – Djokovic had already won the most Grand Slam titles in men’s tennis with number 23 at the French Open – he is followed by the Spaniard Rafael Nadal with 22. Now he has drawn level with the Australian Margaret Court, who holds the record among women .
