Fredrik Aursnes’ versatility has already won over everyone in Norway. In the 6-0 victory against Jordan, in which he provided an assist, Aursnes started as a midfielder, but ended up as a left winger. Now, coach Stale Solbakken praised him and used a curious expression to talk about the Nordic’s mission with Benfica.
“It’s Schmidt’s potato”, he said, alluding to a food seen in Norway as a good fit for any dish, particularly in times of financial difficulties. “He plays well with both feet, is fast and has great football intelligence. With so much competition in midfield, it’s an advantage to be able to place him elsewhere. It’s also beneficial to see him getting regular time in a club as big as Benfica”, he added.
