In the ÖKK’s announcement at the beginning of the week, it was stated that the City Caretaker will start the works already on Tuesday. However, in the second half of the week, another announcement came out that on September 12 municipal representative Csaba Horváth Miklós is holding a residents’ forum, the topic of which will be the planned changes affecting the street.
In light of the above, we were curious as to whether the works had really started, and to what extent the public forum on Tuesday next week could influence the preliminary plans for the changes to Galántai Street?
The head of the City Stewardship, István Bozai, told our question that part of the renovation of the Galántai road surface was the one-way conversion of the affected area and that the implementation of the traffic technical changes began at the announced time.
– Upon seeing the start of the works, the residents expressed their objections to the change in the traffic order. Due to the differences of opinion experienced by the local population at the site, a consultation took place between the local government representative of the area and the Transport Office. As a result of this consultation, the cladding painting works were suspended. The public forum on September 12 will – certainly – be held because of these differences of opinion – said István Bozai, adding that the municipal representative of the affected district can provide more information.
