Villefranche begins its season with a complicated trip to Chartres, which hoped to be promoted to Nationale 2 but was rejected by the FFR. Placed this season in a more northern group, with four teams from the Paris region, the Caladois will be heading off into the unknown.
With a new staff (Bruno Baumer and Juan Mangione who supervised the hopefuls last season), CSV dreams of qualification which eluded them last season when they were promoted.
The Caladois played two preparation matches, with a defeat against the ASM Espoirs (42-28) and a victory at Saint-Jean-en-Royans (promoted to Federal 1) 38 to 16.
