Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The dynamics of the 2024 presidential election contestation continue to develop. The competition became warmer after Anies Baswedan appointed Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin as his deputy.
This means that there are only 2 Presidential Candidates (Capres) who have not yet chosen their companions. Even so, several parties are already guessing about the empty seats, including the Vice Presidential Candidate (Bacawapres) from Presidential Candidate (Capres) Ganjar Pranowo.
A United Development Party (PPP) politician, namely the Chair of the PPP Advisory Council, Muhammad Romahurmuziy, also revealed the potential of who would accompany Ganjar. He said that Ganjar Pranowo’s vice presidential opportunity would most likely be filled by Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, who currently serves as Minister of Tourism and the creative economy.
Romahurmuziy revealed this after the National Mandate Party (PAN) and the Golkar Party officially supported Prabowo Subianto Djojohadikusumo in the upcoming 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).
“This composition increases the chances of the Chairman of Bappilu PPP, Pak Sandi, as Mas Ganjar’s vice presidential candidate,” he said in a recent written statement, quoted on Saturday (10/9/2023).
Romahurmuziy said that all parties on Ganjar’s side would do their best to support PDI-P cadres in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. In fact, his party will form ‘Sarung Ganjar’ volunteers consisting of students who support Ganjar.
“This is a form of real support from the students for Mas Ganjar, who is a member of the students’ extended family,” he added.
Previously, apart from Sandiaga, a number of names were said to be Ganjar Pranowo’s companions to fight in the 2024 presidential election. They were Erick Thohir, Mahfud MD, and Andika Perkasa.
