– Now everyone must do everything possible, and also everything that seems impossible, to help Ukraine get through the winter and maintain all functions, Zelenskyj said in his daily video speech on Saturday.
– Air defense, preparations of the energy sector, social systems, appropriate support packages from our partners – all civil servants and military officers have clear tasks, he added.
Last winter, Russian forces wreaked havoc on Ukrainian energy infrastructure with rocket and drone attacks, leaving many Ukrainians without electricity and heat. But extensive repair work has since been carried out, according to the Ministry of Energy in Kyiv.
At the same time, there are new reports of attacks against Ukraine on the night of Sunday.
The regional military administration confirms that Ukrainian air defenses have been activated around the capital.
They report that fallout from a drone has hit a multi-storey building, but no one has been reported injured.
Mayor Vitaly Klitschko says there has been fallout from drones in four parts of the city. Some cars have been destroyed, but no damage to the infrastructure has been reported.
Witnesses report to Reuters that at least five explosions were heard on the night of Sunday.
Early on Sunday morning, the reports from the Russian Ministry of Defense also came that the Russian Air Force had neutralized eight Ukrainian drones in the Black Sea near annexed Crimea.
