National Social Security Fund: School kits and scholarships for 423 orphans and destitute children

As usual, the National Social Security Fund (CNSS) carried out on September 2, 2023 in Ouagadougou the delivery of food, scholarships and school kits to orphans, destitute children and widows of social security beneficiaries. The presentation ceremony of this donation worth 53,325,000 FCFA was placed under the high patronage of the Minister of State, Minister of the Civil Service, Labor and Social Protection, Bassolma Bazié and the sponsorship of Noëlie Cécile Tiendrebeogo, General Director of ECOBANK.

Showing solidarity and bringing comfort to orphans, destitute children and widows of those on social security is the objective sought by the National Social Security Fund (CNSS) through this operation to provide school kits and food. On this occasion, the Director General (DG) of the National Social Security Fund (CNSS), Dr Hermann Yacouba Nacambo, recalled that his institution is a social welfare organization which plays a very important role in the chain of solidarity in the Burkina Faso. It was therefore important for this institution to mark a halt at the start of the 2023-2023 school year through this operation to make life better for these vulnerable people. This gesture falls within the framework of the slogan of the institution which is “the virtues of solidarity”. For this 2023 operation, a total of 423 orphans and deprived children benefited from school kits and scholarships. Each child left with a scholarship worth 100 thousand FCFA including 20 thousand FCFA in the form of supplies and 80 thousand FCFA in cash as a contribution towards schooling costs. As for the widows of social security beneficiaries, who number 450, they benefited from 50 kg bags of rice.

A patriotic gesture according to Bassolma Bazié

For the godmother of the ceremony, Noëlie Cécile Tiendrebeogo, General Director of ECOBANK, if there is a situation that calls for collective solidarity, it is the situation of these children and widows who find themselves in precarious circumstances overnight. which they did not seek. For her, losing a parent, being in a precarious situation that we did not seek, does not mean dropping out of school and failure. Through this operation, according to her, the CNSS awakens this key and fundamental value of Burkina Faso which is solidarity. She welcomed this act which, in addition to being financial, is emotional and moral. And which shows these people that beyond the loss of a dear parent and the precarious situation in which they live, there are institutions, men and women who think of them and support them financially.

The head of the ceremony, Bassolma Bazié, also welcomed this action which he describes as patriotic in view of the national context. He invited the National Social Security Fund (CNSS) and the Autonomous Retirement Fund for Civil Servants (CARFO) to work for the satisfaction of these socially insured people who have served the country with self-sacrifice, determination, vigor and tenacity. For his part, he reassured the beneficiaries of the availability of the highest authorities of the country at their side. The spokesperson for the beneficiary children, Josué Zongo, on behalf of his comrades, expressed his gratitude to the donors for this action which will reduce the financial burden of school fees for their parents and guardians. He promised better results in order to continue to benefit from this aid. Other operations of this type are planned in the towns of Bobo-Dioulasso, Dédougou, Fada N’Gourma and Ouahigouya, according to the CEO of the CNSS. The National Social Security Fund (CNSS) was supported in this operation by around fifteen financial and banking establishments.
