Scientists have discovered a meteorite that was launched from outer space and turned into an arrowhead and is 3,000 years old. A team of scientists in the discovery, led by geologist Beda Hofmann, from the Natural History Museum in Bern and the University of Bern in Switzerland, began searching for ancient meteorite iron artifacts. In their study in the Journal of Archaeological Sciences, the scientists reported that people during the Bronze Age used meteorites to make tools and weapons. Geologists tested the composition of the artifact, which includes a type of aluminum not found naturally on Earth. The team believes the arrowhead came from Estonia, indicating that people exchanged weapons across the Baltic region.
