Efforts to Deal with the Aftermath of the Disaster: Caravans at “Arapya” Campsite Declared Dangerous

A total of 4 are the victims of the disaster. Today, the efforts of the people and the authorities to deal with the damage continue. The caravans of the “Arapya” camp that were swept away by the flood are dangerous buildings, according to the municipality of Tsarevo. From there, they gave the campers three days to remove them. There remains the problem of cars thrown into the sea and on the beach.

It passed through the center of the village of Velika, flowed into the large dam, overflowed its wall and reached the Oasis beach along the ravine – the water left behind the traces of everything it took to carry along the way.

On the Oasis beach, the two bridges and the approach have been washed away. The overflowing of the dam and the overflow helps the water to find its way through the neighboring ravine, which in turn reaches the “Arapya” campsite.

Carrying with it huge masses of mud, both from the ravines and from the destroyed dam walls, the water element literally carries caravans and cars like children’s toys to the sea.

“Naturally, it’s not just nature. In this case, people behaved irresponsibly, I guess, here in places. And they didn’t foresee something like this. We didn’t expect such an element. But here it is – it’s a fact,” said Valentin Ghiasbeyli.

People who today are trying to save what they can from the caravans are convinced that the two dams above Oasis and Lozenets have held back some of the water, but they also say that if they had been well maintained, they would have reduced the extent of the disaster.

“I know from you and the media and other information that they were not well maintained and when a huge amount of water came they lifted and flooded. That’s clearly what happened. Now we just have to pull ourselves together. As a people we let’s help each other and fix things as quickly as possible and make sure this doesn’t happen again. That’s important now,” said Valentin Ghiasbeyli.

According to the mayor of Tsarevo, the condition of the two dams is extremely worrying.

“As early as Monday, hydro engineers are arriving, which we have already invited, as I said during the headquarters, we have made an extraordinary joint about how to distribute our work so that we can immediately begin to act. These people will be here, we will not start a survey and I hope for the rapid construction and renovation of these walls”, pointed out Georgi Lapchev.

Municipal officials have already managed to get to the Arapya campsite to put up notices that the caravans are dangerous.

“This is a caravan that was very beautiful. I will send you photos so you can see how it looked. But this is how they help us after the disaster. They give us three days to remove something that has been standing here for 30 years,” commented Valentin Giasbeili.

The mayor of Tsarevo claims that this is how he complies with the law. And the decision to remove all dangerous buildings rests with the crisis headquarters.

“However, these people are not receiving such a document for the first time, they received a different one, which says that they should be removed from there, because the place they occupied is not correct,” said Georgi Lapchev.

The bridge to the Vasiliko district, which caused the loss of three human lives, is under police guard for security reasons. The entire structure is examined in detail to design and safely restore it. The bridge on the main road from Burgas to Ahtopol, which also fell, has already been removed, and the temporary bridge will be built on a route that bypasses the main one.
