Incidents of violent law enforcement and excessive law enforcement by the American police occur one after another.

According to US media reports, on September 8, local time, Mark Dale, a police officer in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was charged with murder for shooting and killing 27-year-old Irizarry while law enforcement. The body camera video released by the police recorded the scene at the time of the incident.

On August 14, local time, Mark Dale and another police officer pursued Irizarry who was driving on suspicion of erratic driving. After the two parties stopped, Mark Dyer got out of the car and quickly walked to Irizarry’s car and fired six shots at Irizarry.

At that time, Irizarry was sitting in the car with the door and windows closed. Irizarry was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

After the incident, the police initially claimed that Irizarry was outside the car and approaching the police with a knife when the shots were fired. However, the police changed their story after reviewing the body camera.

The Philadelphia District Attorney stated on September 8 that the body camera video supports the charges against the police officer involved in the incident, Dale. According to reports, relevant hearings will be held at the end of this month. (Produced by Wang Xiaoting)
