Works by Isaac Albéniz, Francisco Tárrega or Manuel de Falla on the piano of the adopted Burgos musician Emilio González can be heard on October 19 at the Teatro Principal. A charity recital whose proceeds will go entirely to cancer research.
Coinciding with World Breast Cancer Day, the Burgos association to fight this disease, the Burgos City Council and the Riviera café have come together to offer this concert in which maestro Carlos Granados will also participate in Las Castañuelas. Emilio González has announced that, although they are not on the poster, they will also have the presence of the singer Azucena López, because one of the works that is scheduled is the song of the will-o’-the-wisp, by Falla, and the dancer’s presence remains to be confirmed. The program called Dreams of Spainwhere in addition to the aforementioned Spanish musicians, González will cover the history of Spanish classical music, from Domenico Scarlatti to the premiere of a zambra by Ana Vázquez Silva, an Asturian composer.
The president of the Burgos association against cancer, Eduardo González Campo, thanked the organizers of the event and the City Council for providing the Teatro Principal for their collaboration with the research. “We continue to support it because it is important to detect the disease and improve treatments,” he stressed. “This will be one more help to reach the 300,000 euros that we want to contribute from the province,” he added.
The tickets, which will be for 15 euros and there will be row 0, will be sold for 15 euros and will be sold through Teleentradas de Caja de Burgos and at the usual points (Teatro Principal, Fundación Caja de Burgos…) . They will go on sale starting Monday.
