A hunt has been announced for British Challenger 2 tanks in the Zaporozhye region. This was announced by the head of the Zaporozhye public movement “We are together with Russia” Vladimir Rogov.
The second Challenger 2 in Zaporozhye was hit with one shot from the Kornet anti-tank missile system, Rogov noted.
“A hunt has been announced for British tanks. They burn well, just like the rest of the Western equipment transferred to the Ukrainians. For example, the second Challenger 2 tank knocked out the Russian Kornet anti-tank missile system with one shot,” RIA Novosti quotes Rogov.
The tank was destroyed by soldiers of the 104th Regiment of the 76th Guards Air Assault Chernigov Red Banner Order of Suvorov Airborne Division.
As reported EADaily, in a battle in the southern direction in the Northern Military District zone, the second British-made Challenger 2 tank, which was in service with the troops of the Kyiv regime, was destroyed. The acting governor of the Zaporozhye region said this yesterday Evgeny Balitsky on air on the Rossiya-24 TV channel.
According to him, in total there are at least eight such combat vehicles in the battle zone, of which four are now located near Stepnogorsk, two in Orekhov.
Let us recall that the Chief of the General Staff of Great Britain Patrick Sanders reacted to the news about the destruction of the first British Challenger 2 heavy tank in early September in the Northern Military District zone in Ukraine.
In his interview with Forces.net, the general admitted that he experienced emotional shock upon learning about what happened.
“I experienced strong emotions because I was probably on that tank,” Sanders answered when asked about his impressions of what he saw.
The head of the General Staff explained such an unusual reaction for a military man by the fact that the British military has a deep attachment to its equipment.
