G20 invites African Union to become a full member-Xinhuanet
Xinhua News Agency, New Delhi, September 9 (Reporter Feng Qidi and Wu Xia) Members of the Group of 20 reached an agreement at the summit held on the 9th to invite the African Union (AU) to become a full member.
China is the first country to express its clear support for the African Union to join the G20 and support the African Union in playing a greater role in global governance.
The G20 was established in 1999 and consists of China, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union It consists of 20 parties.
