PKB General Chairperson (Ketum) Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin revealed the reason why he suddenly returned to Jakarta during the Tour de Wali Songo series yesterday. Cak Imin said he attended a limited meeting in Jakarta.
“Ordinary meetings are limited,” he said at the Sunan Drajat cemetery complex in Lamongan, East Java, Saturday (9/9/2023).
However, Cak Imin did not reveal the details of the meeting he attended. When asked whether the meeting was with PKS elites, Cak Imin denied it.
“(With PKS) no, not yet. (With whom?) is the main point,” he answered briefly.
The Deputy Speaker of the DPR was reluctant to reveal further who he met with on Friday (8/9). But Cak Imin confirmed that the meeting was related to the presidential candidacy process he was currently undergoing.
“Yes, of course (related to the presidential candidacy), the main thing is that returning (to) Jakarta is definitely important,” he said.
Previously, Cak Imin left for Jakarta after making a pilgrimage from the grave of Sunan Gunung Jati in Cirebon, West Java. Cak Imin did not continue the Tour de Wali Songo trip, while the group continued walking.
This was confirmed by the Chairman of the PKB DPP Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal. Cucun said Cak Imin would follow the agenda in Jakarta.
“He (Cak Imin) stated that he would follow the agenda that had been promised in Jakarta,” said Cucun to journalists at the Raden Patah grave area, Demak, Central Java, Friday (8/9/2023) evening.
The Tour de Wali Songo will be held on 8-11 September 2023. Cak Imin and the PKB group will go on a pilgrimage tour to the graves of the saints in Cirebon to Surabaya.
