A ‘bright and energetic’ teenager who dreamed of becoming a musician has died four days after he came home from school complaining of flu.
Sean Hughes is well known as a local singer and performer, performing on stages including the Aviva Stadium and Croke Park. But one day he came home from school with flu-like symptoms and was taken to his family doctor.
The doctors then prescribed him antibiotics but the next day he felt worse, so he was taken to hospital in Dublin.
An investigation later found that the cause of death was sepsis, according to the report For The Mirror newspaper.
