The Slovak Rebecca Sramkova dismissed the Romanian Jaqueline Cristian, seeded n°2 (6-2, 7-5) and reached the semi-final of the Bari tournament, in Bari, Friday midday.
Sramkova, ranked 153rd on the WTA, will face the winner of the upcoming match between Croatian Jana Fett and Zeynep Sonmez in the semi-finals of the Puglia Open.
Before her qualification against Cristian, 99th in the world at the WTA, on Friday, the Slovak player had beaten the Brazilian Laura Pigossi, seeded n°6, without being worried about the score (6-3, 6-1), and won was imposed against the Russian Polina Kudermetova (7-6 [2]3-6, 6-3).
The Romanian had won against the qualified Italian Angelica Moratelli (7-5, 6-4), and against the Italian Nuria Brancaccio (6-3, 6-4).
