Even older people have never experienced such a situation. 104-year-old Stavroula Brazioti, who was taken from the town of Piniada, explains to the broadcaster ERTnews: “I have experienced wars and famine, but never anything like this.” Parts of Turkey are also affected by the extreme rainfall. The reason for the heavy amounts of rain is the Omega weather situation, which ensures summery temperatures in Germany. (dpa/AK)
