Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The General Authority of Civil Aviation in the Emirates announced the death of a crew member of the helicopter that crashed and its wreckage was recovered, on Friday, according to the official Emirates News Agency (WAM).
The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority indicated that rescue operations are continuing at the site of the plane crash, as it crashed off the coast of the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain after taking off from Al Maktoum International Airport in the Emirate of Dubai.
The authority confirmed that search operations are continuing for the other helicopter pilot who was part of the training flight.
The authority indicated that “the process of recovering the remaining parts of the plane is continuing and that all procedures are being carried out according to best practices in cooperation with the competent authorities in search and rescue.”
The authority offered its condolences to the family of the deceased pilot, according to the official Emirates News Agency.
On Friday, the UAE authorities announced the recovery of the wreckage of a helicopter that crashed during a training flight, with two pilots on board, one of whom was Egyptian.
