Only customers who use the Wein & Co webshop are affected. Hackers are said to have gained access to data such as names, addresses, dates of birth and telephone numbers. However, payment data or bank details were not stolen, according to the subsidiary of the Hamburg wine trading group Hawesko, which informed affected customers on Friday.
The attack has already been stopped and the security of the systems has been restored. Nevertheless, the company, which operates three locations in Upper Austria, recommends its online shop customers to change their password the next time they log in and to watch out for suspicious emails. Passwords were also stolen in a highly encrypted form in the cyber attack.
