Actor Danny Masterson Sentenced to 30 Years in Prison for Rape, Contrasting with Kevin Spacey’s Acquittal on Sexual Assault Charges

Actor Danny Masterson has been sentenced to 2 of the 3 counts of rape of which he was accused. According to ‘Variety’, the sentence of the protagonist of the Fox comedy ‘That ’70s Show’ amounts to 30 years in prison. Masterson has been convicted of raping two women in his Hollywood Hill home between 2001 and 2003, while filming the Fox series.

On the third accusation, which allegedly occurred in November 2001, the jury was unable to reach a verdict. In this case an ex-girlfriend was involved. According to the same source, at the sentencing the three women told the judge that Masterson’s actions had ruined his life and asked the judge that the actor spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Danny Masterson is also known for his performance in Netflix’s ‘The Ranch’.

This sentence comes after the acquittal of Kevin Spacey, who was accused of allegedly sexually assaulting 4 men between 2001 and 2013 in England. The judicial process is over and the American actor is declared “not guilty” of 9 sexual crimes by the jury at the London court in Southwark.

The defense attorney accused Spacey of “aggressively grabbing other men by the crotch,” adding that “on one occasion things went further.” The actor defended himself by arguing that in some cases “they have invented it.” Although he does admit that there was a sexual encounter with another man, but that the relationship was consensual.
