Václav Černý gave the home side the lead in the 56th minute in a direct fight for first place in Group E in Eden, but Nedim Bajrami equalized in 10 minutes with the visitors’ only shot on goal. The leading Czechs in the table after the fourth round maintained a point lead over the Albanians, while Poland is one point back in third place.
“Albania are celebrating a draw in Prague that could have the price of a ticket to Euro 2024,” TV and radio company Radio Televizioni Shqiptar (RTSH) said on its website. “Albania performed the first miracle. “Bajrami ignited the red and black party in Prague with his super goal. Thousands of Albanians in the stadium exploded with enthusiasm when the midfielder didn’t give the Czech goalkeeper a chance to shoot with his fantastic and surgically accurate shot,” RTSH added.
