Nissan no longer bears warranty obligations to the owners of its cars in Russia, the Japanese concern told Autonews.ru. All questions related to car repairs should be addressed to AvtoVAZ.
“We confirm that AvtoVAZ bears full responsibility for the warranty on all cars sold in Russia. They are obliged to carry out any warranty repairs before the expiration of the warranty period,” says the press service of the Nissan global office.
A request from Autonews.ru was sent in connection with a request from a reader who was faced with the problem of repairing a Nissan car under warranty. He saved a recording of a conversation with a service representative, in which the latter complained about difficulties in subsequently receiving compensation for repairs from AvtoVAZ. Dealers interviewed by Autonews.ru on condition of anonymity confirmed that such difficulties do exist.
The AvtoVAZ press service promised to give a comment after a complaint about the service is registered by calling the Nissan hotline. There, however, they stated that they only accepted complaints in writing by mail to the representative office in St. Petersburg.
Due to the insignificance of the breakdown and the need to quickly fix it, the reader did this at his own expense.
