When Beau asks Sylvia about her five-year plan, the model tells that she dreams of a life with Joris outside the Netherlands. “Somewhere abroad, with a few children and yet also a horse. That is really my dream. I want a horse and a beautiful life and enjoy nature. Of the works of God, because the earth is a jewel where we live.”
Currently, Sylvia is very happy, she shares. Yet she notices that she finds it very difficult that she does not have a family yet. “I do have a bit of a pressure,” she says. Because of ‘everything that people have built for a long time before starting a family’, she sometimes feels that she ‘has to get it done in two years’. “That is a pressure on me, because I just want to have my family.”
Although Beau thinks that Sylvia shouldn’t hurry, she thinks otherwise. “That’s because otherwise I’m too old for children.” She knows one thing for sure: Joris is the man of her dreams. “When I saw him walk after I gave him the last rose, I really saw my husband walk away. I really want to continue with him and I will do my best to make it work.”
Later in the broadcast, in which rapper Typhoon is also a guest, Sylvia talks candidly about her time as a model. And that period has not always been easy. “I was very thin myself, so I didn’t have to do much to fit in shape to stay. But I was always judged on it. For example, I was 52 kilos, but they always wanted me at 50. That is actually anorexia.” Sylvia says that many models took to drugs for that reason. “So that they were not hungry and so that they could continue working and not get tired.” She herself has also fallen into this trap, she admits to Beau.”I haven’t been a saint. I’ve done that too.”
Watch the episode again at Videoland. House of Beau can be seen every Thursday evening at 8.30 pm on RTL 4.
