Rokhtim Das/Dibrugarh (Assam). Bulan Dutta of Chabua has set an example for thousands of people. Bulan was suffering from chronic kidney disease a few years back. Both his kidneys had failed. He lost everything to get a kidney transplant. During treatment, he sold all his land and property, but even after losing everything, Bulan did not give up. He decided to start a new life with his wife and son.

After kidney transplant, he started pickle business at home. He started a small industry at home. He collected all the vegetables and fruits like mango, jackfruit, chillies etc. from different parts of Chabua and started making pickles at home. During this, Bulan’s wife also gave him full support. Bulan tried to add a distinctive flavor to his homemade pickles and gradually this pickle became popular.

Bulan’s pickle is also sold in other states.

Started business with Rs 1,300
Bulan has made a distinct identity in the business of pickles by preparing various types of pickles in Chabua. Bulan started his business from home in 2016 and has come a long way today. Presently other men and women of the zone are also involved in domestic pickle industry. Everyone unites and prepares the pickle. At present their pickle industry has become popular. Bulan pickle is now exported to Assam as well as other states. Bulan started his journey with many struggles. After treatment, he had only Rs 1,300 and with that Rs 1,300, Bulan saw new dreams. Today Bulan Dutta has emerged as an ideal.
