After 18 Years the Rolling Stones Reveal ‘Hackney Diamonds’ and Release ‘Angry’

Los Rolling Stones come out roaring today with the release of their rocking single ‘Angry’. It comes alongside the announcement of his highly anticipated new album, titled ‘Hackney Diamonds’ which will be released on October 20th.

Mick, Keith and Ronnie shared the exciting news today at a special media launch event in the historic Hackney Empire, the epicenter of East London’s pioneering art for almost 125 years. The launch was hosted by American TV star Jimmy Fallon and broadcast worldwide via YouTube.

The 12-track album, the full track listing of which will be revealed in due course, was recorded at various locations around the world, including Henson Recording Studios, Los Angeles; Metropolis Studios, London; Sanctuary Studios, Nassau, Bahamas; Electric Lady Studios, New York; and The Hit Factory/ Germano Studios, also in New York.

Hackney Diamonds

The album is their first studio set of new material since 2005’s A Bigger Bang, coincidentally released on September 6 18 years ago. Since then, the Stones have continued to break box office records for fun on a series of sold-out global tours and released the Grammy Award-winning ‘Blue & Lonesome’ in 2016, which featured their brilliant covers of many of the blues songs that they helped shape his sound and it topped album charts around the world. Last year they thrilled a European audience of nearly a quarter of a million on their Sixty Anniversary tour.

Hackney Diamonds marks the Stones’ (Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood) first collaboration with New York-born producer and musician Andrew Watt, who was named Producer of the Year at the 2021 GRAMMY® Awards and has worked with Post Malone, Iggy Pop and Elton John. The exciting ‘Angry’ is accompanied by a music video directed by Francois Rousselet, whose credits include work with Nike, Diesel, Pharrell Williams and with the Stones on Blue & Lonesome’s “Ride ‘Em On Down”.
