Potter-Textor Encounter
Almost every season, some coaches are let go during international breaks. This season should be no exception. And the first victim could well be Laurent Blanc. The Olympique Lyonnais coach pays for the poor results of this season, and this last place that the club currently occupies. The former coach of PSG and the France team could well be thanked in the coming days. And while some names have been mentioned (Bruno Lage, Thiago Motta, Marcelo Gallardo), another is added to the list: that of Graham Potter.
The England manager even met John Textor on Tuesday, according to The team. A first interview to gauge the possibility of Potter becoming the coach of Olympique Lyonnais. These discussions have obviously been positive, to the point that Graham Potter is now at the top of the list. The former Chelsea manager has been free of any contract since the end of his adventure with the Blues. His name had also been mentioned on the side of OGC Nice to succeed Didier Digard.
Two other foreign coaches targeted
The 48-year-old manager is therefore well placed, although he still leaves time for reflection. John Textor is not insensitive to the CV of the one who made himself known in Brighton. OL could therefore relaunch their career after the failure at Chelsea. In the event of refusal, the president of the Rhone club would have two other tracks in mind. The names of these coaches have not been filtered, but they would be foreign coaches.
John Textor enjoys Graham Potter (Icon Sport)
We will first have to wait for confirmation that Laurent Blanc will leave his post. John Textor does not seem in too much of a hurry to formalize all this, especially after the storm that the club has gone through. The identity of the coach of Gones should however soon be known, in order to allow him to put the Lyon machine back in place.
