The movie “Valley of Exile”, co-starring Lebanese actor Michel Hourani, won the Best Narrative Feature Award at the Cinequest Film Festival in California, USA.
Valley of Exile was shown for the first time at the festival before embarking on its world tour, and it is directed by Iranian-American Anna Faher. Michel Hourani said on the “Instagram” application: “Proud and happy that the movie “Valley of Exile” won the award for best feature film at the Cinequest Film Festival in California, USA. Proud of this exceptional artistic experience.
He concluded by saying, “Congratulations to all the cast and the two heroines of the film.”
Hourani plays the Lebanese lead in the film alongside the two Syrians, Maria Hassan and Hala Hosni, who play the main roles in the film’s story.
The film is a Canadian-Lebanese joint production, distributed between the Canadian company Morning Bird Pictures, and the Lebanese companies Placeless Films and Spotless Mind Films. Its scenes were filmed in an actual camp for the displaced Syrians in the Lebanese Bekaa region.
