On September 16 at 3:00 p.m., the “Drawing Theater” will visit Mārupe Culture House with the performance “Musical Workshop”, in which three artists of different professions improvise together with the audience. The show features: painter Ingrīda Ivane, musician Aleksejs Bahirs and improviser Varis Klausitajs.
The content and design of each show is unique. The performance begins with improvised musical compositions that describe the characters that the audience would like to see in the performance. The painter also improvises, because the audience participates in the creation of characters and events, so it is not known in advance what will be drawn. Along with the ongoing events and improvised songs, maybe a large drawing is created on the wall of the stage about the dances. At the end of the show, the audience has the opportunity to try their hand at drawing and add to the big picture. Director of the show and author of the idea – Varis Klausitajs.
“Drawing Theater” is a professional chamber theater founded in 2008 by director and actor Varis Klausitajs. The theater is characterized by a unique form of theater that combines drawing on the stage, music, dance and acting.
