You are absolutely right, from a competition point of view this is nothing new at all.
But it gives greater flexibility regarding the choice of level and number of matches. A flexibility that the clubs want.

There is currently a research project underway in which they investigate which form of play is the best for 14-year-olds. 9 against 9 or 11 against 11. The Swedish Football Association is doing the research, but we are involved in the project.
Which prominent football nations use this model that we have emulated?

But maybe they should. A small country like Sweden is, after all, world number one on the women’s side. 🙂
Lack of demands and lack of competition rather have the effect that more people give up or are drawn to sports with competition. Learn to lead to even worse outcomes from Stockholm’s football in terms of talent.

Here we have different opinions. In the latest national team squad on the men’s side, every third player came from Stockholm. Better than ever before. We are slightly worse on the women’s side, but we are working on it. If you look at the national youth team, the numbers are even stronger.
And many Stockholm talents (too many?) are offered and accept contracts abroad at a young age. Our opinion is that Stockholm football stands strong here.
The next step might be to register and send in the match result so the AI points even more correctly if you want to change levels. Can also be used as a recommendation tool when registering for 2025.
