COVID-19 Deaths Due to Incomplete Vaccination Schedules in Cochabamba Department: Latest Updates and Statistics

The Cochabamba Departmental Health Service (Sedes) reported yesterday the death of two male patients, ages 48 and 57, due to complications related to Covid-19. The head of Epidemiology, Rubén Castillo, reported that they had incomplete vaccination schedules against the disease.

In the last epidemiological week, 58 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in the department, 20 less compared to the previous week and a daily average of eight confirmed by laboratory.

Castillo indicated that the Forensic Research Institute reported the deaths, and it is presumed that both people would have died at their homes due to respiratory distress.

Both had an incomplete vaccination schedule, having received only one dose in 2021, he indicated. The Headquarters will carry out an investigation to determine the existence of underlying diseases.

According to Castillo, the fatality rate for Covid-19 in the department is 0.25, a gradual increase is experienced. He emphasized the importance of not resorting to self-medication or alternative traditional medicine treatments without first consulting a professional for any symptoms related to this virus.
