The message is clear: working without permission can cost you dearly. If you hire your workers to work for others or even on their own account, you may face heavy penalties.
These penalties range from a fine of up to 100,000 Saudi riyals, to the deportation of workers (if they are expatriates). But this is not all, as the employer may face a prison sentence of up to six months and be denied the right to be recruited for a period that may extend to five years.
The Directorate is not satisfied with issuing warnings only, but rather calls on all citizens and residents in the Kingdom to contribute to preserving the safety of the country. If you notice any irregularities related to residency or border security, you can report them. In the regions of Riyadh and Makkah Al-Mukarramah, please call 911, while in the rest of the Kingdom, the number is 999.
In another context, the Passport Authority issued a warning against suspicious electronic files and links that may be a source of information crimes. The Directorate encourages the use of the “We are all safe” application to report these crimes to those who do not know. The General Directorate of Passports provides many services related to residency and passports. Including information modification services for expatriates, services for submitting card applications, and renewing residency and visas. And of course, passport services for Saudi citizens.
