The Kremlin will not comment on claims that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un plans to travel to Russia in September to discuss arms with Vladimir Putin.
– We have nothing to say, reads the message from the Kremlin after the New York Times newspaper wrote that the North Korean leader will travel to Russia to meet Putin later in September.
The purpose of the trip is to discuss the possibility of supplying Russia with more weapons and ammunition for the war in Ukraine, as well as other military cooperation, unnamed sources told the newspaper on Monday.
The sources are described as officials from the United States and allied countries.
The White House last week expressed concern over progress in arms talks between Russia and North Korea and pointed to Putin and Kim exchanging letters in which they promised each other to increase cooperation.
