Killer: David Fincher’s Highly-Anticipated Crime Thriller at Venice Film Festival

And she seems to be the Killer from the first to the last second. It’s a superbly shot crime thriller that’s gritty, raw, deliberately emotionally detached, and damn funny at the same time. The picture is said to show Fincher’s famous perfectionism, where he plays with every shot and even the smallest detail. In terms of craftsmanship and audio-visual, it is simply an excellent spectacle, in which Fincher, thanks to his direction, also offers a supposedly very nourishing psychological probe into the heart of the central character, which of course is greatly helped by excellent Fassbender.

Despite the fact that the majority of reviewers report satisfaction, it can be felt from the responses that many expected even more. According to some, the story is simple, according to more critical reviews, almost B-grade. Even though Fincher looks at it almost artistically in certain sequences, it is said to be the most straightforward film of his career, and because of that, it fails to fully affect the viewer. But we should still get one of the best pieces of recent years in the crime thriller genre. It is simply known that the combination of Fincher/Walker aroused even greater expectations.
