Road closure in the morning in Hamburg: The reason is a mysterious find that alerted the police.
A person was run over by an S-Bahn train at the Berliner Tor in Hamburg early Tuesday morning. This is reported by the “Bild” newspaper and “Abendblatt”. According to the “Bild” the man is said to have been dead before the collision with the train, so the police are now investigating “in all directions”, as a spokesman for the newspaper said. A homicide commission has already been informed.
Because of the incident, S-Bahn trains are currently only running to a limited extent via the main station. The route from the Berliner Tor to there was blocked by the federal police for the investigation work that now follows.
The S-Bahn announced that there would be delays on numerous routes in Hamburg due to the closure in the morning. However, the S1 was able to drive again between Altona and the Berliner Tor from around 8.45 a.m.
