On Saturday, Mia Gundersen (61) entered the “Stjernekamp” stage to tunes from Evita. The song she performed was “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina”, a song that means a lot to Gundersen.
About the grief: – Incomprehensible
That she would be on stage on Saturday was not a given. Over a long period of several years, the theater legend was unable to sing.
Music stopped for Gundersen, due to performance anxiety.

– What I have fought a lot against are my demons. I had a performance that was supposed to be an anniversary for me, and I only got to do the premiere, she says honestly.
The show she only did one performance of was “All Of Mia” – a celebration of her career.
Lost his father
– I stopped singing, and it was incredibly sad. Four or five years went by where I didn’t sing at all.
For Gundersen, “Sister Act” was her salvation, and her way back to music.
When Dagbladet met Gundersen after the premiere on Saturday, she could honestly say that it was good to be on stage again.

– I’ve found the joy of singing again, so I think “Stjernekamp” is nice because I don’t take it too seriously, she laughs and continues:
– My career does not depend on whether I progress, or whether I quit. But I really want to show off the songs, tracks and genres I have up my sleeve of course. So I hope I get to hang around for a little while, she admits.
– Had broken completely
As mentioned, “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina” has a very special place in Gundersen’s heart. She played the lead role in the first Norwegian production of the musical.
– It was incredibly special, because it has been many years since I did Evita. That role meant an incredible amount to me.

Next Saturday, it’s rock’s turn, something the 61-year-old is not significantly nervous about. Gundersen is a former “rock girl”, as she says herself.
– Now I just have to practice and get the energy the genre requires. I’m really looking forward to it, because I think I can possibly surprise a lot of people out there.
