After the Bolivian Football Federation will present the formal complaint to the State Attorney General’s Office to initiate investigations for “criminal association” and “aggravated fraud”, The entity’s legal advisor commented that there are witnesses who “fear for their safety and their lives.”.
According to lawyer Cristian Camacho, the criminal lawsuit filed by the Federation has all the “foundations and strong evidence” for the Public Ministry to carry out the investigation for the match-fixing in the Simón Bolívar Cup and in the Professional Division tournaments.
It was at that moment that attorney Camacho mentioned that these people, the deponents, received threats against their lives by those involved in this network of corruption.
“The witnesses fear for their lives and safety, there is a very serious situation that implies not only economic extremes, but also an issue of threats and attempts against the lives of those people that they are wanting to bring this information to light,” said the FBF lawyer.
