Lübeck – It’s going full steam ahead. The district cup in the Hanseatic city is looking for the semi-final pairings this week. The finalist from the previous year and the favorite for the final this year make the start. Eintracht Gross Gronau receives Oberliga FC Dornbreite on Tuesday at 7.30 p.m. at Torfmoor.
Dennis Gohr, assistant coach of the hosts, says to HL-SPORTS: “Tomorrow we have an important game in the district cup when we welcome the Oberliga team Dornbreite to Grönau. Although Dornbreite is two leagues ahead of us and is therefore the favorite on paper, we know that the squad did not start the season in the best possible way. On the other hand, we’ve mostly done well in recent cup competitions. This is also shown by the participation in the cup final last season. In addition, we want to build on our convincing performance from last weekend and will not hide under any circumstances. We look forward to the support of our fans and hope to see a large number of spectators at the home game. Our goal is clear: we want to advance to the next round of the cup. But in order to achieve this goal, it is again imperative that every player performs to the full on the pitch. We are looking forward to the challenge and an exciting game against a great opponent.”
Oberliga wants to appear serious
FCD-Coach Thomas Manthey says: “Cup quarter-finals in Grönau! We are looking forward to it.
We will not make the mistake of underestimating Grönau. We know what Grönau is capable of creating. Last season they won twice against Ratzeburg. It will be a difficult task for us. We will go into the game with the necessary toughness, determination and seriousness and try to get into the semi-finals.
Lening, Kelting, Gürsoy, Peters, Anders and Worreschk will be absent. The use of Tiessen is questionable.”
Wednesday and Thursday part 2 and 3
The excitement continues on Wednesday and Thursday. In the district class duel, Eintracht 04 and TSV Kücknitz face each other as well as Azadi and Eichholzer SV at the provisional end of the week. At the end of the month, ATSV Stockelsdorf will play against SC Rapid.
