Sergio Ramos Returns Home to Sevilla for One-Year Contract

Sevilla

Sergio Ramos return home to continue his career in his homeland, Sevilla. The veteran Spanish defender has a one-year contract.

Ramos is yet to have a club after being released by Paris Saint-Germain this summer. Several clubs such as Besiktas and from Saudi Arabia had approached him.

But, no one has managed to captivate Ramos. Even AS Roma, which was handled by Jose Mourinho, Ramos’ former coach at Real Madrid, also wanted to recruit him.

After weighing several club offers, Ramos finally made his choice to Sevilla. Yes, Ramos was officially signed for one season by the Andalusian club, Monday (4/9/2023) and wore jersey number 39.

Sevilla is certainly not a new club for Ramos because he started his professional career there in 2003. He played two years in the senior team while still being coached by Joaquin Caparros.

After collecting 50 appearances and three goals, Ramos was brought in by Real Madrid in 2005 to become one of the world’s best defenders.

Ramos has made 671 appearances and 101 goals for Madrid with a contribution of 22 trophies. Ramos is reportedly willing to accept a salary of “only” 2 million euros per season, only 10 percent of the total offer of 20 million euros per year from Al Ittihad.
