Back to School 2023/2024: A Promising Start with New Initiatives

Back to school 2023/2024 “looks good”, according to the rector of the Bordeaux academy, Anne Bisagni-Faure, guest of France Bleu Gironde this Monday, September 4, back to school day. Besides a heat wave, and peaks at 36°C in Gironde to which “we are vigilant”, the director of National Education in Gironde says to herself “completely serene” as we begin this school year.

In response to the promise of Gabriel Attal the Minister of National Education, who ensured the presence of a “teacher in front of each class” this Monday, Anne Bisagni-Faure specifies that she currently applies to primary school Or “all positions are filled”. In college and high school, “there may be technical adjustments for this week when three hours are missing in letters in a college or six hours in physics-chemistry elsewhere”, she specifies. “It’s a hand-sewn job that is done with contract teachers. But the breeding ground is there”, assures the rector.

On this question, contract workers, who represent “less than 2%” enrollment in primary education, Anne Bisagni-Faure, welcomes “the big change, the anticipation. We recruited contract workers from June 1, so the training took place”. One-week training courses followed by educational visits, starting this Monday, throughout the year.
