Discover the Exhibition of Alfred: A Nostalgic Journey through Art and Comics at the Grenoble Gallery

New development in sight for the very young Grenoble gallery, after having already exhibited Jean-Marc Rochettea new era is dawning with this exhibition ofAlfred. Now professionally structured, it is the turn of the author with Italian accents against a backdrop of nostalgic colors to be exhibited. Fauve d’or 2014 at the Angoulême festival for his album Come Prima, the author normally only rarely sells the fruit of his work, but in his own words: “I almost never sell my boards, but there I did it for Mummy. For the simple and good reason that it is the bookstore in which I bought my comics when I was a child. It’s an honor but also a tribute to be here. »

A handful of plates, therefore, but above all numerous illustrations, most of which have never yet been revealed to the world, from the sketchbooks of the artist’s many travels, in Italy and in particular in Venice.

A gift offered to young Alfred, a story as poetic and full of nostalgia as his drawings can be. But above all a parenthesis for the Grenoble public who are gradually tasting the experience of opening comic strips. A complete experience, thanks to the live-drawing performance offered by the artist.

For the occasion, a few local figures flocked to this new long space in the city center: the actor Serge Papagali or the designer Nicolas Keramidas willingly rubbed shoulders with the public who came in droves for this launch party.

The sale which continues until October 28, 2023 is made up of a hundred originals but also many other lots designed to satisfy all types of purse: art prints, postcards but above all an art-book, titled Improvisamente, a collection of numerous pieces exhibited in the gallery, published by the bookstore exclusively for the exhibition, limited to 500 copies, numbered and signed by Alfred.

The author who will release his new graphic novel Maltempo (Delcourt) on October 11 will be back in the capital of the Alps on October 14 for a signing session and probably for new commented and improvised visits to his works.
