Changes to Long Island Rail Road service: Increased service to Penn Station and more direct service to Atlantic Terminal

Changes to Long Island Rail Road service begin tomorrow.

The MTA says it plans to increase service to Penn Station and more direct service to the Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn.

This comes as some travelers have struggled to adjust to time changes brought on by the opening of Grand Central Madison earlier this year.

Some of the new changes include more express service between Jamaica and Penn Station during morning rush hours.

Direct trains to Brooklyn have also been arranged at the Far Rockaway, Long Beach, Hempstead and Huntington stations.

And stops at several Queens stations have been reassigned to more Brooklyn trains to help ease the flow of passengers.
