International World Alzheimer’s Day is celebrated every year on September 21st. People with dementia and their relatives should experience that they are accepted, that they belong and that a contented, self-determined life in the community is possible. For this reason, various stakeholders and committed individuals provide information on World Alzheimer’s Day and Dementia Week in Dresden about the disease and its consequences for those affected and their families, and how quality of life is also possible with dementia.
The kick-off event of the Dementia Week in Dresden will take place on September 16, from 1 to 5.30 p.m. in the Albertinum. Visitors can expect a colorful program consisting of a medical lecture, a panel discussion and music. The event is accompanied by a market of possibilities, where various contacts and service providers present themselves on the subject of demez. Admission is free.
The opening event will be followed by the Dementia Week until September 23 with a varied program and various offers on the subject of dementia in Dresden – but also in many other places in Saxony.
