Legendary Guyanese Musician José Sébéloué Passes Away at 74

The Guyanese musician, interpreter of “It’s good for morale” or even “At the masked ball”, died this Sunday, September 3 in Guyana, according to his relatives.

He was the voice of several great hits of the 1980s and 1990s. Guyanese José Sébéloué, singer and guitarist of the Compagnie créole, died this Sunday, September 3 at the age of 74, according to information from France West Indies.

Born in 1948 in Ouanary, Guyana, José Sébéloué first enjoyed fame locally before exploding in mainland France with his group founded in 1975 with Martiniquaise Clémence Bringtown, Guadeloupeans Guy Bevert and Arthur Apatout and the Martinican Julien Tarquin.
