Broadcasting date
Recorded last July at studio 128 in Plaine-Saint-Denis, near Paris, the first broadcast of “Prodiges pop” will be scheduled for Saturday September 16 at 9:10 p.m. on France 2. Two broadcasts have been filmed.
Concept
In this entertainment program, 15 young singers, musicians and dancers will perform on the stage of studio 128 in Plaine Saint-Denis, near Paris, accompanied by a symphony orchestra of more than 60 musicians. The best candidates in each category will compete in a second bounty in the final to try to win the title of “Pop version prodigies 2023”.
Le jury
For this Pop version, France 2 has chosen the singer Chimène Badi, the choreographer Blanca Li and the Franco-Lebanese trumpet player Ibrahim Maalouf to compose the jury responsible for commenting on and dissecting the performances of the little “prodigies”.
In the original version, the jury is made up of Gautier Capuçon (since 2014), Julie Fuchs (since 2020) and Marie-Claude Pietragalla (since 2018).
Audiences
With this spin-off, France 2 intends to build on the success of this program broadcast for the first time on its antenna in 2014. Last year, season 9 of “Prodiges” was watched on average and in watch audiences, by 3.32 million classic fanseither 18,3% of the public aged four and over, according to Médiamétrie.
This excellent record for the public service channel is the best since the two-night version (semi-final and final) of the show, which came into effect in season 3, in 2016. Seasons 1 and 2 did not give rise to only one evening, respectively followed by 4.05 million (18.0% of the public) et 3.50 million music lovers (16.7% of the public).
