Actor Yoo Ah-in, who was sent to the prosecution for habitual use of drugs, was surrounded by rumors of visiting a club in Gangnam. Regarding the rumor, the agency refuted that it was ‘unfounded’.
On the 2nd, an article titled ‘Actor Yoo Ah-in under investigation at the Gangnam Club’ became a hot topic in an online community. The author of the article attached a photo showing the club’s internal structure and reserved seats along with the caption, “Yoo Ah-in is coming to the most expensive club in Gangnam today.” This article quickly spread around social media and online communities.
However, the agency UAA said that it was “unfounded”. The agency said, “Currently, Yoo Ah-in is not even in Seoul. He denied the rumor, saying, “I am embarrassed by the false post.”
Previously, in April of last year, ahead of the police subpoena investigation, Yoo Ah-in witnessed a club in Itaewon, which caused controversy. At the time, the agency announced a tough response, saying, “We want to correct the facts in relation to the situation where unconfirmed news is continuously circulating and spreading.”
Meanwhile, Yoo Ah-in was at the center of controversy when reports of habitual use of propofol were reported in February. He is accused of habitually using more than seven types of drugs, including hemp, cocaine, ketamine, zolpidem, propofol, midazolam and alprazolam.
The police applied for an arrest warrant in May, believing that there was a risk of destroying evidence and escaping, but the court rejected it, saying it was difficult to recognize the need for arrest.
An official from the prosecution said, “I am a bit curious about the fact that Yoo Ah-in took more than 7 types of drugs, but the arrest warrant was dismissed. He decided to proceed with an overall re-investigation.”
