The emeritus King Juan Carlos I arrived at the Club Nautico de Sanxenxo (Pontevedra) at 12:15 p.m., where he was received by dozens of people who applauded him and shouted ‘Long live the King!’ and ‘thief!’, to go out to train aboard the ‘Bribn’.

Thus, he has entered the boat directly from the house that his friend and sailor Pedro Campos has in Sanxenxo, specifically in Nann. He has done it in the same vehicle, a Volvo, in which he arrived at the municipality this Wednesday from the Vigus airport in Peinador.

In the car, the emeritus occupied the passenger seat, as he did on Wednesday, and as he entered the nautical he greeted the dozens of people who crowded the jetty to receive him.

Juan Carlos I got out of the vehicle dressed in sportswear, black pants, a gray jacket, sunglasses and a cap, and leaned on his cane until he reached the stairs.

In this way, once he was at the access to the pants, an assistant helped him down, thus abandoning his cane, to hold on to the railing.

At the jetty he stopped to say hello and talk to a group of children from the Real Club Nautico de Sanxenxo (RCNS) who were on board the semi-rigid boat ‘Cristina’, which later became the auxiliary boat for the emeritus.

Next, and with the help of his walking stick, he addressed the crew that accompanied him, during this day, on his journey through the Pontevedra estuary.

GREETS ABOARD THE ‘BRIBN’

Minutes later he got on the boat and once the ‘Rogue’ has cast off, at 12:48 p.m., the king, sitting on the port side, has greeted the crowd that has applauded him, while cries of ‘long live the king!’ and ‘thief!’.

Thus, on the starboard side the ex-monarch’s boat has been tied up by the auxiliary ‘Cristina’ until it has turned around the jetty. After that, she has released ropes and hoisted sails, which has started the voyage of Juan Carlos I through the waters of the ra de Pontevedra.

After more than two and a half hours at sea, during which time the expectation from the jetty has diminished, the ‘Bribn’ has arrived at port at around 3:30 p.m.

ARRIVAL AT PORT

The boat has entered towed by the auxiliary ‘Cristina’. Once he has docked, Juan Carlos I, dressed in a long-sleeved white polo shirt and without his jacket or glasses, has disembarked with the help of an assistant with whom he has also climbed the stairs.

Next, he entered Pedro Campos’ car through the passenger door and upon exit he greeted all those who were on the jetty.

Thus, after 3:45 p.m., the king left directly, without stopping at the RCNS, to the house of Pedro Campos where he was staying, as usual, during his visit to Galicia.

This day of sailing has been the prelude to the XXIV Carlos I Silgar Hotel Trophy regatta for 6m class boats that will be held this weekend, on the 29th and 30th. In addition, as reported by the RCNS on its website, this It is the fifth scoring regatta for the V Spanish League Circuit in the 6m class.
